Questioning Those Who Know

One writer’s quest to gain knowledge from some of Medium’s best writers

I’ve spent the past several days reading all the great hints and tips from some of the top writers on our platform. I subscribe to most of Shaunta Grimes newsletters and publications. I’ve gained a lot of very useful information from her and have tried to use most of it in my daily routine.

I’ve come to greatly respect Nicole Akers and her publication, Publishous. It’s one of my favorite places to submit and only once has she ever had a comment about my work. It was something she thought I needed to work on, she offered it up in a very professional manner, and she was absolutely right.

I’ve just recently started reading a lot of work from authors such as August Birch. I love the way he just tells it like it is and doesn’t hold much back. I respect that. Don’t pussy-foot around it, just tell me what’s up and let me take it from there. Deal? Deal!

Then I found Casey Botticello and added him to my ever-growing list of “those who know”. I’ve been writing on Medium for 18 months and have surpassed a few of the “newbie” hurdles. So a lot of what he says in his posts are old news for me, but he does have a lot of great advice that I can use on a daily basis.
