Welcome to Chronicles of the Past. My new home for all my useless knowledge of history. I love history. It’s my passion. Though I love being a writer, I can’t say I know enough to fill a book or publication about it. I do, however, have that kind of knowledge about history.
I’ve loved all things history since I was a kid. At the age of 9, I went with a family friend to an exhibition of King Tut and the ancient Egyptian culture. I was mesmerized. It sparked a passion in me that has lasted for more than 40 years.
Personally, I prefer ancient history. The further back in time I can go, the better. However, I live in a part of the United States that is filled with a more modern historic aspect. I live in a valley that was made famous by the pioneers heading west on the Oregon Trail. I never found it all that exciting, but I do have to acknowledge the fact that there is history all around me.
My husband doesn’t get it. He’s asked me numerous times what good it’s going to do me to know all this stuff. Well, other than it might land me on Jeopardy or help me win an impromptu game of trivia, nothing. Then it hit me. Share all the stuff I know with other history lovers out there. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that everyone else…
