Giving gifts with a personal touch

Are you one of those people who have a hard time coming up with gift ideas for your friends and loved ones? I am. I’m always trying to come up with something that no one else will think of, but usually end up getting them some gadget or a gift card. Then it hit me. Why not get them something to go with their collections?

Almost everyone collects something. Baseball cards, coins, Pez candy dispensers…the list goes on and on. Me personally? I collect old stuff. Not antiques, per se, but old stuff. Vintage cookbooks, skeleton keys, wall hangings…that kind of thing. And the truth is, when someone gives me something to add to my collection, I’m over the moon.

The coolest thing about giving this type of gift means you took the time to think of them on a more personal level. You made an effort to find them something that no one else would even dream of. For instance, my husband has a thing for old cars. We have a few that are actual, drivable vehicles, but a lot of them are die-cast cars, models, or modern replicas of vintage cars. In fact, I just bought him a new Christmas ornament simply because it was an old Ford pickup.
