Dear Medium, WTF???
My drop from mediocre to “What Just Happened??”
Okay, I’m not normally the bite-the-hand-that-feeds-you type of person, but the drastic drop in revenue has me a little freaked out. I didn’t even make it to the payout minimum for October. What happened???
Now, please keep in mind that I’ve never hit the $100-Club, but between January and September, I was keeping a pretty steady flow of earning anywhere from $30 to $60 per month. I’m okay with that. It made me want to keep coming back day after day.
Then October came and went and I couldn’t even make it to payout??? I didn’t do anything different from my norm. I don’t post a lot of stuff each month, but I still do the Word-A-Day prompts and the 15 on the 15th list. I added a few other posts, just as I’ve done in the past. What’s changed?
Very rarely will you see me post anything negative about this platform. I’ve been with Medium since 2018. And yes, there were times in the past that I didn’t make much, but that was because I didn’t post much. That was on me. This feels different.
I know I’m never going to get rich writing on this site and I’m okay with that. I’m not trying to get rich writing on this site. But having a little something extra coming in each month has helped me in my situation more than anyone will know. That’s not going to happen for me this…
